So I began my journey of house arrest, also known as intermediate punishment (in my county at least), Aug. 4, 2016. Let me give you a little background of what got me on house arrest.
In the summer of 2014, June to be more precise, I made a terrible choice which was the biggest mistake of my life. Without going into too much detail, because honestly, I am ashamed of my actions, what transpired was me giving my personal medication to another person. Sounds harmless....right? I mean drug dealers are out there selling their 'product' and killing their customers more and more each time they buy. Wrong. Giving my medications to another person could literally have killed them from mixing or interacting with their personal medicines.
How did I get caught? Explaining this is legit complicated because the police report as well as witness statements didn't match up at all. There were so many inconsistent things with this entire case it was an absolute shit show to put it nicely. So essentially when the police came knocking and asking questions, I was honest about my actions. I made sure to tell them EXACTLY what I did and WHEN...the when part is incredibly important because that was a huge part of the problem in this case.
So for two years I was on ROR. I was not allowed to leave the county in which I live for any reason, doing so would result in immediate incarceration. So when the day finally came to appear in front of the Judge to find out what my punishment was....I was scared. Not going to lie. I prayed for house arrest for the longest time. The possible outcomes that could have happened are as followed: 3 years in prison, 7 years in prison, probation, or house arrest. I could not imagine leaving my wife for 3 or even 7 years at that. So when the Judge handed her ruling down that I would serve 9 months intermediate punishment followed with three years probation. My immediate thought was, thank you God for answering my prayers. So I sent in the 100$ start up fee to get hooked up as soon as possible. My thought...the sooner the better.
I got my anklet put on Aug. 4, 2016 and it comes off May 4, 2016.....
